Lena River Basin Evaporation for January 1985 - 1999

During the winter months little evaporation occurs as temperatures are low. Generally temperatures are below freezing from Oct to April. In March start to see a slow increase in evaporation, with June – Aug experiencing the highest estimates. The change in evaporation through the year is primarily driven by incoming solar radiation (or temperature) in this arctic river basin.
