Rhine River Basin Evaporation in Average Year

During the winter period from October to March low levels of evaporation with in the Rhine basin are estimated for the basin, primarily because the temperatures during this period are low. From April onwards evaporation estimates increase generally peaking in July which coincides with rising temperatures from spring through to summer. August –September lower estimates for evaporation are plotted as soil moisture decreases in this period.
